Jan 27, 2011 (Thursday) - GMEA Performance at Savannah International Trade and Convention Center- Wildcat Winds

The morning of January 27th students should arrive at school wearing their uniform. (Don’t forget your instrument and your packed lunch if bring it from home.) Students need to go to homeroom before reporting to the band room.
There will be one bus that will depart shortly after 8:30 am.
Performance time is 11:15 am.
Kiersten will be distributing the wristbands at the Convention Center on the morning of the 27th. 
A wristband is not needed to watch the performance but you will need the wristband to enter the exhibit areas.
The bus is scheduled to return to school at 2:00 pm.  If you would like to take your student home, you must give Dr. Warnock or Mrs. Bowden a written note stating that your child will not be riding the bus.

Jan 8, 2011 (Saturday) - All State Auditions

Students need to arrive at the band room absolutely no later than 9 am this Saturday. If they can arrive before 9:00 (say 8:45), that would be even better.
Students should bring money for lunch and a snack in the afternoon on the return trip to Richmond Hill. The bus will probably stop at the Dublin exit.
Students should return their Field Trip Form ASAP or on Saturday morning to Mrs. Bowden.
Students should bring their music and tuner.

The Wildcat Winds will be taking a program photo in their new concert uniforms.  Time is still TBD.

Dec 9, 2010 (Thursday) - Christmas Concert

The Wildcat Winds will play a Christmas concert in the park with the High School band at JF Gregory.  The concert starts at 7p.m.  We will also need some parent help to haul equipment to the park and back.

Dec 8, 2010 (Wednesday) - Cookie Dough Pick Up at RHMS Cafeteria/ Volunteers Needed

Pick up: from 3 to 5 pm.
Volunteers: We will need to assemble in the Lunch Room after lunch time is over ( around 1:30 pm) to sort the orders by grade. Pick-up will take place from 3-5:30 pm. With that said, if you can only help at the student /parent pick-up please plan to meet in the Lunch Room by 2:30 pm- we must finish deliveries/clean-up by 5:45 pm. Ideally, we will have 2 parents per grade to check off and hand off the orders.

All band students must report to the bandroom at 6p.m. for the Christmas Concert following the PTSO meeting at 6:30 in the Gym. 


Dec 4, 10 am, 2010 (Saturday) - Honor Band Audition
Free Transport for the participants
For those students auditioning for Honor Band this Saturday, please put the meeting time at the bandroom on Saturday morning as 10 a.m.  This is a tenetive time and I will be following up as Dr. Warnock receives our audition time information.

Every year Dr. Warnock takes all 3 grade level bands to the Large Group Performance Evaluations sponsored by the Georgia Music Educators Association in the spring.  The school donates the transportation.  We must come up with the entrance fees and the money to cover the purchase of participation medals for every student.  This fundraiser pays for this event.  All the leftover monies are put back into the band program by purchasing instruments, stands, music, etc.

March 11 from 7-10pm - Skate night on Friday for middle school students - Rec Association
The Boosters are looking for at least 10 parents to chaperone on the night of the skate and a few more to work the concession area.  In advance of the skate night, we are asking for a couple of parents to help promote the event at school (reader board, posters, PA announcements).  Please reply to Stacie Lindsey at stacie.lindsey@hotmail.com.
