The Richmond Hill Wildcat Winds are the premier wind group at RHMS. This is an auditioned organization for 7th and 8th graders.
The Wildcat Winds will be performing at the 2010 District One Large Group Performance Evaluation. This will be held on March 13th in the Fine Arts Hall at Armstrong Atlantic State University. The students will meet at the Richmond Hill Middle band room school at 8:30 am on March 13th. We will then load up on buses and travel together to AASU. Once at AASU the students will have a brief warm-up period before taking the main concert stage to perform at 11am. All parents are invited and encouraged to attend this concert. If you can not make the concert, we will be taking the students back to the Richmond Hill Middle School band room at the end.
You can pick up your student at the band room at 12:30pm. If you would like to take your student directly from AASU either Dr. Warnock or Mrs. Bowden will need a letter which shows that you will be responsible for your student’s trip home. We will also need to see you in person before we release your student. Students will need to wear their uniform: long sleeved white shirt (button down for gentlemen since we will be wearing bowties and cummerbunds), black pants or skirt, black shoes, black socks, and a black belt.
If you have any further questions, please contact Mrs. Bowden (abowden@bryan.k12.ga.us) or Dr. Warnock (ewarnock@bryan.k12.ga.us).
Last year the Wildcat Winds played at the Seafood Festival, Arts on the Coast, Atlanta Symphony Hall, and with the Richmond Hill High School Band.
Students should be concentrating on the sheet music that has been passed out for the LGPE concert in March. It is extremely important for every member of the ensemble to make their best effort to be at every rehearsal from now until LGPE. We need everyone to make it work!
