Important Booster/Parent Meeting: Jan 13 at 7pm

Parents,

 

Next Thursday, Jan 13 at 7p.m. in the bandroom will be our January Booster meeting.  Following the general meeting, 2 officers from the High School Band Boosters will present information for the 8th graders and their parents regarding the band program there.  I highly encourage all of you who have students interested in band as freshman attend this meeting.  Feel free to bring your student.  Following their presentation we will meet with Wildcat Winds parents to discuss the upcoming GMEA trip on Jan 27 and the trip to Atlanta in April.  We have many decisions to make with regards to the Atlanta trip that will affect the cost of that trip for you.  Please, if you have not attended a meeting as of yet and especially if you have a student in 8th grade and/or Wildcat Winds, your presence at this meeting is particularly important.

All State Info 2

Parents,

First of all the date for the all state auditions this Saturday IS Jan 8 NOT Jan 10 as previously sent out.  Sorry for any confusion.

 

As far as dress for the auditions... please have your student wear the same type of outfit as they wore for the auditions in Dec.  Nice pants and shirt will be sufficient.  Please no jeans or tshirts.

Important All State Info

Attention Parents, If your student is participating in the All State auditions this Sat, Jan 10 please read the following information carefully.   First, there will be a practice after school on Friday for all students attending the All State auditions.  This will take place in  the band room in place of the Percussion Ensemble which normally meets at that time.   Following is information regarding Sat. from Dr. Warnock:   Couple of things to send out to students going to All-state audition this Saturday. Students need to arrive at the band room absolutely no later than 9 am this Saturday. If they can arrive before 9:00 (say 8:45), that would be even better. Students should bring money for lunch and a snack in the afternoon on the return trip to Richmond Hill. The bus will probably stop at the Dublin exit. Students should return their Field Trip Form ASAP or on Saturday morning to Mrs. Bowden. Students should bring their music and tuner.   Thank you, Kiersten

Band this week/Picture info

Parents,

We are back to our regular after school practice schedule starting tomorrow, Tues. Jan 4.  Winds will meet this Tues and Thurs.  Pep/Jazz band meets on Wednesday and Percussion Ensemble will meet on Friday.

 

ATTENTION- PICTURE INFORMATION FOR JAN 6th

 

Your student should have come home with an order form from Lifetouch before the Christmas break.  If you wish to order pictures, please have your student bring the payment envelope portion with them to their sitting.  (I believe Doc has more forms in the bandroom)  Doc is in need of 2-3 parent volunteers during picture time.  7th graders will be taking pictures from 1:15-2:40 p.m.  If you can help out, please respond to this email.  Your student needs to wear their white dress shirt/black pants/skirt for the photo.  As there is no time to change, they are asked to wear this outfit to school.

GMEA recording opportunity

Parents,

Below is an email sent to me by Dr. Warnock.

 

Wildcat Wind Parents,

 

We have been offered a special discount on CDs of the GMEA concert that are pre-ordered by Friday (1/7).  We need your payment in hand no later than Friday if you wish to purchase the CD at a discount.  Please bring all money to Dr. Warnock by Friday at the latest (1/7).  Checks should be made out to the RHWBB.

 

Options for Purchasing CD of GMEA Concert:

1) $15 if pre-ordered and pre-paid no later than this Friday (1/7).

2) $20 if purchased at the concert.

If you know you are going to want a recording, ordering early would be a great idea.  Please put your check or cash in an envelope marked with your student's name and "GMEA recording".  Have your student put it in the drop box in Doc's office.

Missing Dog Found

Parents and Students,

Great news! The Williams' were reunited with their dog yesterday.  Thanks to all of you who kept your eyes peeled for Sugarbear.  What a happy Christmas gift.

Important Band Info

The cookie dough arrives on Dec 8th.  Please stop by the middle school cafeteria and pick up yours between 3 and 5.  If you cannot come at this time, please contact Cyndy Glasscock at cyndy@stannerh.org and arrange another time.

The Wildcat Winds concert with the high school on Thursday will not be held in JF Gregory park due to cold weather forcasts.  We will be relocating the concert to the High School cafeteria.  Please have your student there by 6:30.  The concert still begins at 7.
