Atlanta Trip Info

Parents,

I want to give you a heads up on the payment schedule for the Atlanta trip.  The trip will cost $120 per student.  The first $50 is due February 20th.  The second payment is due March 5th.  Following our fundraisers in March we will let you know what part of the final $20 balance will be due on March 23rd.

If you wish to chaperone you will also need to pay for your room (single or double).  Amy Landers will have those figures for you soon.  I just don't have them in front of me at this time. You may also reserve a room at the band rate if you want to go to Atlanta but you don't wish to chaperone.  Amy will give you the phone number and info on that as well.  She can be reached at this email or at landersamy@msn.com.

I will be in touch again with more information when I return home from Colorado.

Middle School Skate Night Fundraiser - March 11 from 7-10pm

Band Parents,
At Thursday's band booster meeting the members in attendance approved a fundraising idea presented by fellow band parent, Stacie Lindsey.
Stacie has arranged with the Richmond Hill Rec Center for the band to sponsor a skate night on Friday, March 11 from 7-10pm for middle school students.
The Boosters are looking for at least 10 parents to chaperone on the night of the skate and a few more to work the concession area.  In advance of the skate night, we are asking for a couple of parents to help promote the event at school (reader board, posters, PA announcements).
Please reply to Stacie Lindsey at stacie.lindsey@hotmail.com.
We expect this to be very successful for the band.  Our skate night will be the first of this year!
Thank you Stacie for your work in putting this together.

Congratulations from Dr. Hoyt LeCroy

Wildcat Winds Parents and Students,
Below is a copy of the email sent to Dr. Warnock  from Dr. Hoyt LeCroy.  Doc wanted you to see it.  You should be proud of your performance and how your represented yourselves, your music program, your school, and your community.  You made an impression!

Dear Dr. Warnock and members of Wildcat Winds:

Congratulations on your outstanding performance at last week's inservice conference of Georgia
Music Educators Association!  It is among the highest of honors for a band to serve as a model for
music educators from the state of Georgia.

As one of your guest conductors, I was honored to have the opportunity to observe your dedication
in rehearsal.  Your polished performance on stage was made possible by long hours of devotion to
the cause of excellence.

I know that you have more achievements ahead during this academic year.  My very best wishes are
extended as you ascend to new heights.

As you perform, never forget that your music inspires people whom you will never meet.  You bring hope
to the world.

Congratulations to each of you, and thank you for allowing me to be a part of your memorable performance
at GMEA 2011 !
